Join me to sew two beautiful patchwork linen coasters! These satisfying little makes add a fun pop of colour wherever you use them. They also make great gifts - if you can bear to part with them!
We will be using the “Coasters” pattern from the book “The Handmade Home” by Arounna Khounnoraj.
You Will Learn How To:
Piece patchwork fabric
Create a “bagged out” project with hidden seams and smooth curves
Handsew using ladder stitch
Decorate your coaster with running stitch
You will have time in class to finish one coaster. You may leave class with some hand-stitching left to do on your second coaster.
This Class Is For You If:
- You are 16 or older
- You have completed 2-3 projects recently. You can confidently thread your machine, wind a bobbin, and operate your machine.
I Will Provide:
Coaster-making kit for two coasters (value of $32.99), containing:
linen in multiple solid colours
cotton batting
a spool of cotton thread
embroidery floss
Universal 80/12 sewing needle,
two hand-sewing needles.
All tools and equipment.
(If you need one) A sewing machine, foot pedal, and empty bobbin.
Supplies To Bring:
(Optional) Scraps of light to medium weight linen or quilting cotton no smaller than 4” square to incorporate into your coasters.
(Optional) Your sewing machine, foot pedal, empty bobbin and sewing machine manual.
